Secondary PTSD: Don’t Ignore the Spouses and Kids

A RAND corporation report found:  “Researchers
have found that caregivers of veterans with PTSD experience a burden of
care on a par with caregivers of individuals with dementia and chronic
schizophrenia.”  Secondary PTSD comes from long term, chronic
stress of living in a situation where you have no control. Everything
seems to run to support a set of extremes. Both conflicts and
uncertainties between partners runs high.
